Think about the most stereotypical film you have ever seen. This could be a movie that represents a specific culture, race, gender, or group in an oversimplified or unrealistic way. In your response, explain what film you are referring to, what stereotypes were present in the film, and how those stereotypes shaped your understanding of that group at the time

Prompt: When I watched the movie Help, there were many stereotype in it. Some of these included that women only belong in the kitchen/cleaning the house, African American people are dirty/unclean, and that white people in the south are racists. These stereotype that were present in the film helped me better understand that during the time in which this film was based, it was very common for these stereotype to be true rather than something that is just a speculation. this made it easier to understand what the thought process behind the creation of the movie was.

Summary: Today we talked about stereotypes.

Reflection: watching movies that are based in the past and have stereotypes that were very common in the past makes me look at the modern day and be grateful that in this modern day a lot of these stereotypes have become out of practice. It is very common in the modern day for stereotypes that were popular during a certain time period to continue through time, but even though the stereotype is still present the practice is not.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
