 Prompt: I spent my break spending time with my family. I find the aspect of family to be very important so I made sure to spend to most time I could being with them. I also spent my time with my friends because I value my friendship with them. Overall I spent a lot of time with people doing various different activities and had a really good time. 

Summary: Today we wrote goals for 2026

Reflection: It is important to spend time with the people you love when you have time to do so. This allows me to increase the relationships that I have with them and keep the ones that I already have. This is important to me and makes sure that I don't lose anyone I care about. 


My 2026 goals: 

The first goal that I wish to complete is to pass all my classes with A's. This is an important goal for me because it allows me to increase my GPA while maintaining the integrity of doing well in all of my classes. I can do this by studying hard in all my classes. This past semester I didn't do my absolute best I could, so by making sure that I take time out of my day to have a space to study and make sure that I can just do the best that I can. 

The second goal that I have for myself is being able to get a job. This is important to me because it would allow me to make the money that I need to have to do anything in life. I can do this by applying to many places for jobs. This can allow me to have a bigger chance of being hired at one of them. I have been applying to many places in recent months, so being able to get a job would be super helpful.

My third goal for the year is registering to vote. Voting is super important to making sure that the country and government see the ideas and preferences of the people, so by registering to vote, I am going to have a say in things done in the US. I can do this by making sure that I complete as soon as all the legal documents that are needed for registration as I turn 18. This ensures that it can register me to vote by the time the election in November comes. 

The fourth goal that I have is being able to maintain the friendships that I have made in high school. This is important to me because all the people that I am currently with make me super happy. I can do this by staying in touch with them even when we are not seeing each other in person every single day. This can continue in the friendship that we have and make sure that it lasts long after high school.

 prompt: Over the break I went to help volunteer at a local food shelter. Doing this was something that I am regularly doing this year, but I hadn't done it over Thanksgiving break before. The time at which I helped out was the day before Thanksgiving so it was super busy. Doing this was super memorable because I was able to help the people in my community get the food that they need to live. This made me feel so thankful for the resources I already have that allow for me to have food, but also I felt really thankful that places like the food shelter exist to help people.  Summary: Today we read letters 46-50 in the book.  Reflection: I think that it is really important to realize what you are thankful for in life. If you spend some time reflecting on what is good in your life and what you should be thankful for, it allows you to realize the good in your life and the things that are good for you.

 Prompt: The thing that I most enjoyed about the class was the group projects that we got to do. I loved the people that I worked with in those projects and it allowed for me to spend time with them in the class which made it so much fun. Overall I don't think that there is really an area that I need help with. The assignments in the class were always something that I could manage, the only thing that I needed help with was making sure that I did the assignments, but I have already communicated a strategy with my friends to help make sure that I am on top of my assignments.  Summary: Today I slept in and I was able to finish all of the work I had to do for the rest of the semester.  Reflection: Now that we are at the end of the year it is important to look back and see all of the things that went well and didn't go well in the semester to help you communicate with your teachers for next year to see if they can help you make the year a better one!

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?

 Prompt: I think that something that I admire but also scares me is people who are able to perform in public. I have wanted to perform anything in public for a long time but I am always worried about getting made fun of or messing up. Seeing people who are able to perform in public is inspiring to me but it also scares me because I am worried about them messing up and embarrassing themselves. This changed the way I see goodness because it showed me that people are able to be confident even though it is really scary to perform.  Summary: Today we worked on writing our own pagers.  Reflection: I think that it is important to understand that whatever created the good in this world also created evil to balance everything. Balance is super important and without it everything wouldn't run.
