Think about a film that represents your culture (or a culture you identify with) in a positive and meaningful way. Explain how the film represents the culture and why this portrayal matters. Be sure to include specific examples from the film.

Prompt: Fried Green Tomatoes is a great movie that describes the southern culture in a positive light. This film captures the southern essence of hospitality and kindness to your neighbors while at the same time showing the positive light that southern people are often missed. The film follows the path of a middle-aged housewife who befriends an elderly woman named Ninny in the nursing home. Throughout the movie the story shows the friendship between the two while also showing how they grow as people from one another

Summary: Today we worked on our projects

Reflection: It can be hard in many cases to find films that fully show the culture that you follow in a fully positive light. This is because even though films can have a positive light, movies often still show the negative side of a culture.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.
