Cities can also be an important part of a person’s cultural identity, shaping their values, experiences, and way of life. Think of a movie or TV show that changed the way you see a specific city. How was that city and its culture portrayed, and did it present a full picture or a “single story”? Explain how this portrayal could influence how people view those who live there.

Prompt: i think some movies that changed my view on a certain city were any of the Spider-Man movies. This is because that the Spider-Man movies are based in New York, and the common ideal is that New York is a magical place to live and has been portrayed that way in many of their movies. But in the Spider-Man movies New York is seen as a place that's full of crime. This city is shown to have many people who go out of their way to harm others. This can be negative because people watching these Spider-Man movies may assume that all people in New York are crime dwellers. I think that people in New York may see this negative light based on the city as something that is preventing others from understanding them.

Summary: today we started working in our group projects.

Reflection: When it comes to movies portraying cities in a certain light whether it be positive or negative. There's always going to be a negative consequence that comes out of this portrayal. Even if the movie is trying to make a city look better than it is there is a chance that when people see the city for what it actually is it can cause a negative consequence.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
