After viewing your classmates’ presentations, which cultural group did you find most interesting? Explain why. Then, reflect on how this presentation changed or deepened your understanding of that culture.

Prompt: I found the Latina women project the most interesting. I think this is interesting because the group explained how in so many different films the Latino women are always seen as helpless, bad at English, cleaning, and always willing to do the work no one wants to do. On the other hand Latino women are seen as fiery and always loud. I found this interesting because it showed me some aspects of Latino women that I had seen in the past but never really noticed before. I found how even though this is such a common portrayal of that culture, it is so normalized that no one thinks about it. I just over all thought that their presentation was really well made in helping me better understand the effect of this stereotype on those women.

Summary: Today we watched our presentations.

Reflection: Better understanding other cultures is an amazing way to reduce the effect that a certain stereotype has on a culture. if you know that they commonly say things about a culture that are not true then you can help spread that knowledge to people who think otherwise.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
