How does the New Orleans episode of Street Food: USA show that food represents more than just something people eat? Explain how at least one food from the episode reflects culture, identity, or community.

 Prompt: the po boy sandwiches. These sandwiches embody a variety of different cultures from all around the world. In the documentary the man explains how his grandparents taught him to make the sandwich and how culturally important it is to new Orleans. These sandwiches combine a bunch of different cultures that the people are constantly exposed to and because of this the sandwich has become a staple in the New Orleans community. 

Summary: Today we watch the documentary about New Orleans cooking. 

Reflection: Around the world there are many different cultures and these cultures have a variety of different foods that come from other places around the world but have become traditional in that place.When looking at different cultures around the world it's important to understand what these foods are so you can broaden  your Horizons.

 prompt: Over the break I went to help volunteer at a local food shelter. Doing this was something that I am regularly doing this year, but I hadn't done it over Thanksgiving break before. The time at which I helped out was the day before Thanksgiving so it was super busy. Doing this was super memorable because I was able to help the people in my community get the food that they need to live. This made me feel so thankful for the resources I already have that allow for me to have food, but also I felt really thankful that places like the food shelter exist to help people.  Summary: Today we read letters 46-50 in the book.  Reflection: I think that it is really important to realize what you are thankful for in life.  Prompt: The thing that I most enjoyed about the class was the group projects that we got to do. I loved the people that I worked with in those projects and it allowed for me to spend time with them in the class which made it so much fun. Overall I don't think that there is really an area that I need help with. The assignments in the class were always something that I could manage, the only thing that I needed help with was making sure that I did the assignments, but I have already communicated a strategy with my friends to help make sure that I am on top of my assignments.  Summary: Today I slept in and I was able to finish all of the work I had to do for the rest of the semester.  Reflection: Now that we are at the end of the year it is important to look back and see all of the things that went well and didn't go well in the semester to help you communicate with your teachers for next year to see if they can help you make the year a better one!

 Prompt: One time when I was in middle school one of my friends wanted to be the person who was in charge of everything in our friend group. This caused the people in the group to become upset this was because they didn't want one person to become the "leader of the group" this caused the friend group to split apart. I would tell Harpo and Sofia to follow what seems right, don't listen to other people to base on how your marraige show go.  Summary: Today we just read the book the color purple.  Reflection: I think that it is important to listen to what feels right for you and the people around you, rather than looking at how others are.
