During brainstorming, one idea usually stands out. What is the most interesting or strongest idea you came up with for your essay, and what made you choose it over the others?

Prompt: While I was brainstorming about Wild, the most notable thing that came to me was how throughout the entire book she was trying to escape from her past life by hiking the PCT, and she thought by doing so she could become a new person. But in reality her hiking the PCT was a way for her to escape herself. This was meant to help her grow into a new person that was different from her past self. This made me choose this over the other topics because it focuses on something she is dealing with constantly throughout the entire book, and not just in specific scenes.

Summary: Today we started the writing process for out essay.

Reflection: When you are brainstorming there are going to be ideas that you will like over others, when those ideas present themselves, it is important to understand how to use them to your advantage and create the best ideas possible.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
