Today you created similes and metaphors that reflect your struggles, growth, and resilience. In a well-developed paragraph, reflect on the process. What did you learn about yourself while writing your figurative language?

Prompt: While reflecting on myself to help write these poems I learned more about how the words and thoughts about myself and the words from other people effect me. Doing this I was able to remember the things that built me up to who I am today. This also showed me all of the hard things that I had to face in life that took a toll on me. This experience to learn more about myself allowed me to realize that even though I went through hardship in life, I was able to grow stronger and move on.

Summary: Today we started writing out similes and metaphors.

Reflection: While reflecting on yourself you are able to understand all of the things that you go through in life. This shows that you are stronger than you think, there are constantly things going on in life that make it harder. But if you are able to pass them it shows growth.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
