In letters 6 -10, we see how Celie starts noticing the strength of people around her, like Shug Avery’s independence and confidence. Think about someone in your life who inspires you to be stronger or more confident. What qualities do they have that you admire and try to learn from?

Prompt: My mom is someone who I look up to. She has constantly been apart of my life. She has always been there when I needed help. When I have been struggling with anything I was able to ask her for help and she would be able and willing to help me right away. She has really strong and confident qualities even when things are tough. This allows for people to respect her and she has a way of helping people that need it.

Summary: Today we continued to read the color purple

Reflection: I think that the message that was given in the letters that we read today were really important. This is because it shows us what life was like for celie and the struggles that she has to face. Seeing that struggles that she faced allows for us to realize how grateful we should be for our lives.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
