After reading the first five letters of The Color Purple, reflect on your thoughts and emotions as you experienced Celie’s early voice and struggles.

Prompt: when reading the first couple letters in the book The Color Purple I can't say that I wasn't surprised by the use of certain words that Celie used when writing her letters. Though it is understandable due to her improper education and the experiences that she had gone through while writing those letters. I feel like the types of words that she used to describe the experiences that she has gone through are perfect in describing the situations in their full gravity.

Summary: Today we started reading the book The Color Purple

Reflection: I think that it's really important to read this book and realize that there was a very different situation for people back during the time when this book was written and it is important to understand what life was like back then and be able to connect to the people that lived during that situation and during that time period or who have lived during experiences similar to the ones that occur during the book.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
