Think about a moment when you challenged your parent(s)’ rules or expectations. How did you feel, and what was the outcome?

Prompt: My parents use to make me play piano against my will. This was something I used to like but as I grew older and had less time to practice it felt more like a chore. One time before I had a piano lesson I told my mom that I didn't want to play piano anymore. This caused us to argue because we had already spent a lot of money and time on the lessons. The problem was that I was tired of being forced to do something that I didn't like. This made me feel upset that she didn't want to let me quit, though I was eventually able to quit.

Summary: Today we listened to the story called Two Kinds.

Reflection: I think that today's lessons was a good lesson because it showed us how different people grow up with different types of parenting styles and how that can affect how they act and what they do. It is also important to know when a person has strict parents how that can affect their behavior and their social interactions.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
