Why is the choice to serve leftover Chinese food significant in “Lunch”? How could the author have made a more culturally meaningful choice for her grandmother? Use the text to support your answer. Then reflect on a time when you realized you could have done something more meaningful for someone else.

Prompt: Because it shows that when she is away from home the culture that was present during the time she was with family isn't as present there. it shows that the food that she commonly ate is not something she is actively eating. The author explains how her grandmother's cooking affected her so much throughout the text and the time she spent with family and how it affected her.  a time that I realized that I could do something meaningful for someone else was when I realized that I could help my grandma out with cooking after she hurt her wrist and was not able to move it anymore.  this helped her out a lot because she wasn't able to do much anymore and it meant a lot to her.

summary:  today we read a poem called lunch.

reflection:  I think it's super important to have different moments with your family that reflect your culture and create an identity of Who You Are.

Discuss something meaningful or memorable you experienced over the break, or reflect on what you felt most thankful for during that time.

As the first semester comes to an end, take time to reflect on your learning and growth in this course. In a well-developed response, explain what you enjoyed most about the class, identify the project or assignment you found most engaging, and discuss which aspect of the course you connected with the most (such as poetry, fiction, writing, or discussion). Finally, reflect on one area where you feel you need additional support or improvement as we move into the spring semester.

In "The Lamb" and "The Tyger", both poems suggest that beauty and danger can come from the same source. Describe a time when something or someone you admired also scared or challenged you. How did that experience change the way you see the world or the idea of “goodness”?
