Before the Civil War, most people saw nothing wrong with children working long hours. Over time, people began to see it as unfair and even cruel. What is something that society once accepted but now sees as wrong, or something we still accept today that might be viewed as wrong in the future? Explain your reasoning.
Prompt: I think that something that is wrong that is very common today is body shaming/expectations. It is so common today to see people making fun of others that have a different body type than what is seen as "ideal" in the modern day standards. I think that in the modern day it is very common but in the future it might be seen as wrong to make fun of others just because they are different from you. Over time this problem has become less problematic but it is still present and eventually might go away fully.
Summary: Today we worked on a common lit.
Reflection: I think that when reading literature that is from different time period than the modern day it is important to think about and understand what life was like for them back then. This is something people in the modern day can do to understand the problems and other issues that people had to face and become grateful that we don't have to do the same.
